It's been a busy day and a bit for the Minnesota Wild. Piling onto the news wagon was the suspension of their number one defenseman, Ryan Suter, who was given two games for an elbow he delivered to Pittsburgh's Steve Downie.
For your consideration and a reason not to write much more about the incident, I have embedded the video for the suspension below.
Suter hasn't exactly been the standout defenseman that he probably should be, given his large paycheque, but with 1 goal and 23 points in 40 games, he hasn't exactly been the worst blueliner out there either.
Two games isn't the biggest loss, but for Scott, now that we're into the second half of the regular season, he needs all the games and points he can get, just to get into the top 10. Going into Wednesday night's action, he sat 10 points out of the top bracket of the pool and could really use some big nights from Suter. He'll have to wait, however, as Suter will miss Thursday's game in Buffalo and Saturday's game, home to Arizona.
