The holiday season wasn't necessarily all that kind to New York Rangers number one goalie Henrik Lundqvist, as he came back from the mid-season break, feeling under the weather. It did appear that he had reclaimed his spot before the break, but Antti Raanta came in and nailed down the 4-3 win over Ottawa on Tuesday night, so the goalie controversy may still be brewing out there.
For Grant, that was an opportunity lost for a start and some points. His team is 19th after Tuesday night's action, 37 points out of the money, so his team isn't necessarily out of it, but he just needs those points.
And a note from Wednesday morning, the New Jersey Devils are now expecting to be without forward Taylor Hall for Thursday night's game against the Capitals, due to a lower-body injury. The team has confirmed that this injury is not related to that of the knee surgery he already had this season and that the injury is of the day-to-day variety. The injury prone winger will miss even more time this season, as his season has been limited to 27 games this season.
John S. is still in the thick of the mix in the money, but it's sure getting crowded up there. After Tuesday night, his team sits in 5th place, 3 points out of 3rd, 12 points out of 1st, and this injury will definitely hurt. If it is minor, hopefully he won't lose too much ground.
