The St. Louis Blues finish their pre-holiday schedule in Tampa Bay on Thursday night and they will do so without forward Paul Stastny, who has been placed on the Injured Reserve on Thursday morning, making room for forward Wade Megan to take his place on the lineup sheet.
Stastny was listed as doubtful for tonight's game on Wednesday, but the move to the IR came early on Thursday. The veteran forward didn't play in the last four minutes of the game against the Dallas Stars on Tuesday night, so there's a good chance he suffered the injury then and that would mean he would be eligible to return on the first night of action for the Blues, Wednesday the 28th, home to Philadelphia.
What we know for sure is Grant will miss Stastny for one game, at the very least and his half a point-per-game production (17 points in 34 games) had a 50/50 chance of getting him a point in that game, so take that for what it's worth. His team is having a good week before the holiday, moving up from 20th to 19th with 10 points, so far, and still could wiggle up one more spot with a solid two nights.
