Knee Injury Completes Sturm's Post-Season

A news release from the Boston Bruins this morning disclosed that Marco Sturm suffered both a torn ACL and MCL in his right knee and that will end his playoffs and will also make for an extra-long Summer for the German-international.Sturm has been relatively ineffective for the Bruins in these 2010 Playoffs, not registering a point in the first seven games of the Spring Dance.  However, he hasn't been a burden on the Bruins either, logging plenty of ice-time and finishing with an Even plus/minus rating.

ImplicationsAs much as Sturm has not registered a point in the playoffs yet, that doesn't he wouldn't have and his potential would have been good to keep around, at least for the end of the second round.  Three teams in the pool have Sturm from Box 16 and he will be eliminated from their rosters.

Now, this injury seems to be a bit more permanent, unlike the Jordan Staal injury, which I'll be posting about with today's recap of that game.
