TSN.ca is reporting this morning that Marian Hossa (Dale C.) is doubtful to play against the Senators tonight. Hossa tweaked his groin in practice on Monday morning and was unable to workout yesterday with the team. There was no timetable as to how long Hossa will sit out, but since it's a groin injury, it could very well be a week or so missed.
And if are keeping score, that is another injury for Dale C. so far in the year, but the Hockey Gods only gave Hossa away, because Jean-Sebastien Giguere (Dale C.) is returning to the line-up tonight for the Ducks. Both Giguere and Samuel Pahlsson (Box 8) should be back after missing the first 5 games due to hernia injuries. So, there is some silver lining to this story.
Even more problems have arisen on St. Louis' blueline. First, Eric Brewer (Peter) fell for a couple weeks and now Erik Johnson (Clayton) has been sidelined day-to-day with a fractured foot. Johnson incurred the injury in the first game after blocking a shot against Phoenix, but managed to play through the second game of the season.
And what's one bit of good news without another? Jonathan Toews (Chris) should be cleared for action tonight when the Blackhawks entertain the Sharks in Chicago tonight. The bluechip prospect will return to the line-up after missing the last few preseason games and the first couple regular season games. His arrival has been much anticipated and hopefully, it won't be disappointing.
