The Coyotes might have themselves a very active roster this season, as you should be pretty sure that a season like last, won't be acceptable in the desert this year. With new vibrance from Martin Hanzal and Peter Mueller, the team might have themselves a credible second (or first) line before it's all said and done. Team speed was obviously addressed with the new youth movement.

In net, they will roll three goaltenders to start the season, looking for the hot hand that will guide them through the year. This does look to be a bit of a crap shoot, which could lead down the path of uncertainty. Right now, at day one, you almost have to assume that David Aebischer (Marcus) is the number one guy, but even he has had some shaky times in his career. Mikael Tellqvist (Box 12) and Alex Auld will also get some looks, which may reduce overall playing times for everyone at the beginning of the season.

The Coyotes are sitting on the league minimum for payroll, but with Mueller and Hanzal in the line-up all year, they should be in line for some rookie bonuses come the end of the year, to bump up their figures to the acceptable mark.
