The Pittsburgh Penguins returned forward Tyler Kennedy back to the doctors at home, as the team continues on the road, to check out a leg or knee injury that he had suffered on Sunday against the Devils. There is no word on how long he'll actually be out of the line-up, but returning home to see the doctors is a pretty bad sign, which will mean he will be missing some more games on this road trip and likely more. A better update will likely provided after he has been seen by the doctors.
Rough news for Ryan M., whose team is trying to make a run for the top 10 after spending a few weeks at the bottom of the standings at the beginning of the year. Through Tuesday night's action, his team sits in 13th and they are only 20 points out of 10th, but he did forego his waiver draft picks last week, so he has no new reinforcements to help his cause. An injury will hurt his chances of making a full recovery this year.
Can't see anything that would say the contrary, but it appears that the Jets scratched forward Kyle Wellwood on Tuesday night with the Maple Leafs in town, which would have been a game you would think he would want to play, being a former member. But with only 1 goal in his last five games, Wellwood has not been producing offensively and scratching him from a meaningful game may be the kind of punishment he needs to get his game back on track. With Evander Kane back in the line-up on Tuesday, the Jets didn't necessarily subtract a great deal of offensive talent with the healthy scratch.
Another team trying to vie for a top 10 finishing spot, John P., missed out on a skater game with Wellwood not in the Jets line-up and it may have had a minor impact, as the diminutive scoring winger has been having a pretty good season, scoring better than half a point-per-game this season with 31 points in 54 games this year. I would imagine we'll see Wellwood back in the line-up when the Jets play next.
