The Detroit Red Wings are rolling along in the Western Conference, an unstoppable force at home at Joe Louis Arena, but they will be entering (if they haven't already) the dog days of the season. Minor injuries to major players are now going to be under the microscope for the most part and rest while sitting atop of the standings looks like a wise decision. Henrik Zetterberg is now scheduled to miss out on Friday night's game against the Predators due to a lower-body injury and he is officially listed as out day-to-day.
The team's approach is that it isn't a very big deal, but as we draw closer to the playoffs, we'll be getting less and less information about injuries and for all we know, this could be the start.
Benson G. is only 9 points out of the money and he cannot afford to have Zetterberg on the shelf for very long, so he's hoping that the Red Wings are not leading him astray with information. Zetterberg has been somewhat of a disappointment in the pool for Benson, as he was taken early in the 2nd round (29th overall), but only ranks 65th in pool scoring with 44 points in 58 games. Nevertheless, with the Red Wings rolling along, this could be one crucial game to miss.
