Since he hasn't played since the early part of January, Box 14 defenseman Adam Pardy was a good candidate to find some ice-time with the Dallas Stars' AHL affiliate, just to get back into game shape. On Monday, the team sent Pardy down on a conditioning stint, which allowed him to forego the waiver wire and it will keep him down there for a maximum of two weeks, possibly enough time to get his confidence back or find a hole for him to fill in the line-up. Pardy only has 1 assist in 22 games for the Stars this season, a major disappointment after being a free agent signing in the off-season.
A bout of the flu was enough for Detroit Red Wings Box 13 defenseman Brad Stuart to be held out of the line-up on Monday night. Stuart hasn't been quite as effective of a pool-worthy defenseman this season, already having been dropped in one waiver draft this season, he just hasn't found his legs this year. In 53 games, Stuart has 4 goals and 7 assists, well down in the defenseman scoring ranks this season, 104th in blueline scoring, to be exact.
After sports hernia surgery earlier in the season, Box 25 forward for the Montreal Canadiens, Ryan White, has now been cleared for some game action and in order to get up to proper speed for the NHL, the Habs have sent him down to the AHL for a conditioning stint, trying to get his game legs underneath him. Apparently, the conditioning stint has started off quite well for White, who scored two goals in the 1st period for the Hamilton Bulldogs, but it may take a bit more than a couple of AHL goals to get excited for his return.
