Couture Suffers Broken Leg

On Thursday afternoon, it was released that San Jose forward Logan Couture was helped off the ice and seen on crutches after practice in New Jersey, ahead of the team's game on Friday against the Devils.  The diagnosis came down and it isn't positive, in the slightest.

Couture is expected to undergo surgery to fix a broken leg and is now going to be out of the lineup for 4-to-6 weeks.

In three games played so far this season, Couture has only 1 assist and 2 PIM this season, which isn't exactly a blazing start, but with limited games played, just over a week into the season, it would have been tough to find that rhythm.

This is a pretty big blow to Wes' team, which is off to a bit of a slow start, despite having one of the best forward groups on paper.  Heading into Friday's action, Wes' team sits in 24th spot, 19 points back of 1st place.  Without Couture, his 3rd round pick, it will be an uphill grind, but with both Steven Stamkos and Evgeni Malkin in tow, you would think that it is only a matter of time before his team starts climbing the ladder.
