Wisniewski Suffers Torn ACL

47 seconds into his NHL season and it appears to be over for Carolina Hurricanes defenseman James Wisniewski.

In the opening game of the regular season between the Hurricanes and Predators, Wisniewski, a summer free agent signing, suffered a knee injury, left the game, not to return and on Friday afternoon, the team announced that he will undergo surgery to repair a torn ACL.

The 31-year old rearguard was placed on this blog's Injury Prone List in the Summer after having a pretty rough career, thanks to plenty of injuries and this situation shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone.

This is a big blow to John R., who won't be able to drop this defenseman until Week Nine and won't be able to activate his replacement until Week Ten.  John goes into Friday night in 20th place, 6 points out of 1st place.
