Afternoon Player Notes in the Draft (Jan 24)

The NHL finally announced who would be taking over for Victor Hedman on the Atlantic Division team for the 3-on-3 tournament on Sunday and it will be his Tampa Bay teammate, forward Brayden Point.  Yes, a forward taking over for a defenseman, but that's probably the best they could do, leaving it to the last minute.

Point has been good this year, certainly worthy of the distinction, having 19 goals and 43 points in 48 games for the Bolts.

With Hedman's injury, that means that Mike has no participation in the All-Star festivities at the moment, still with more changes to come, and Stuart gets a second player named, joining Taylor Hall, who isn't exactly a lock to play with his hand injury.  See, more changes likely to come.
