Goalie Announcements (Jan 23)

It's already the last game day of Week Seventeen and there are only six games on the schedule, so there are a couple of teams really sweating bullets, because they have yet to register a point in the first couple days.

Troy and Chelsea are without points this week and Troy has slipped a spot in the standings, which may be a blessing in disguise, since the order for the Waiver Draft will be determined after tonight's action.

At the opposite end of the spectrum, Jesse and Dale C. are rolling right along this week, 11 points each, while Brian and Stacey C. are chasing them with 9 points a piece.

Braden Holtby (Stacey C.) versus Frederik Andersen (Derek B.)
The Washington Capitals are not taking any chances tonight, when they face the Toronto Maple Leafs, giving Braden Holtby starts on back-to-back nights.  Good news for Stacey, who is looking for his second Mover & Shaker of the season.  Derek B. has yet to pick up a Mover & Shaker this season, but will need more than his Frederik Andersen start tonight to get him there, as his team starts the night at 4 points.

Calvin Pickard (N/A) versus Carey Price (Stacey M.)
Stacey M.'s team, on the other hand, is lying dangerously close to the basement with only 1 point this week, but her goalie, Carey Price, will get a match-up against the Coyotes, who were in Ottawa last night playing.  That's a fairly solid advantage, in theory, but the question becomes, will the Canadiens take advantage of the situation?

Devan Dubnyk (Wes) versus Philipp Grubauer (Jesse)
Good pool match-up in Colorado tonight, as Wes gets a start out of Devan Dubnyk, trying to improve upon his weekly total of 7 points, so far, while Jesse's goalie, Philipp Grubauer, stands in the way and his job will be to try and get Jesse's team over the hump and into a Mover & Shaker this season.

Juuse Saros (Eric) versus Marc-Andre Fleury (Troy)
Troy's team is the only one that has registered a win every week this season, excluding Week Seventeen.  His team, however, does get a start tonight, when Marc-Andre Fleury and the Golden Knights host the Predators, but that streak is getting nervously close to ending.  The Predators are not sending their All-Star goalie to the crease tonight, opting to give Juuse Saros the nod and Eric a bonus start.  Eric's pool team starts the night with 4 points and nearly a 100% chance at picking 6th in the Waiver Draft.

Jordan Binnington (N/A) versus John Gibson (Kristy & Don)
John Gibson is confirmed to be the only pool goalie in the game between the Blues and the Ducks in Anaheim tonight, offering Kristy & Don a chance at 2 points in the process.  Their team starts the night at 5 points, well clear of the basement, right in the middle of the weekly standings.

Alex Nedeljkovic (N/A) versus Jacob Markstrom (Chelsea)
Chelsea's team has 7 projected games to be played tonight, so her team has a really good chance at getting that elusive point (or more) and one of those projected games is a start for Jacob Markstrom, when the Canucks host the Hurricanes.  That much is definitely confirmed.
