2019 4th Round Draft Pick |
The Dallas Stars re-acquired defenseman Jamie Oleksiak from the Pittsburgh Penguins, sending a mid-round pick in next summer's draft in the other direction. Oleksiak as been down in the bottom pairing of the Penguins blueline for a good part of the season and just hasn't had much traction with the team of late.
The Stars announced that Marc Methot was done for the year after season ending knee surgery, so they were looking to add some size back into their lineup, as they currently hold one of the Western Conference wild card spots and would like to make the playoffs this year.
The move to Dallas may increase the ice-time for Oleksiak, which would be a big gain for Brian's hockey pool team. Brian picked up the big defender in the last Waiver Draft and has got very little from him, 1 assist in 13 games played in the second segment of the season. Of course, there's a pretty good chance Brian drops the defenseman this week, but after the trade, he may or may not think twice. Who is to say?
Brian's team needs the boost, sitting 15th, 48 points out of the money.
