Noon Player Notes (Jan 23)

There may have been a collective gasp when the Arizona Coyotes announced that Oliver Ekman-Larsson will be out of the lineup tonight for their game in Montreal, as he was reportedly hurt in Ottawa last night.  The Coyotes captain has suffered a lower-body injury and will be reevaluated when the team returns home for the All-Star break.  For now, he'll be listed as out day-to-day, but we'll expect to see an update before too long.

Ekman-Larsson has 26 points in 49 games for the Coyotes this year, which isn't exactly elite numbers, but he has been Brian's best defenseman this season, so this could be a stinging situation to his team.  Brian's team currently sits 13th in the standings, 46 points out of the money, and really needs his team to be healthy to have an outside shot at hitting 3rd place.
