The Canadiens are going to be without Sergei Kostitsyn on Friday night, as they take on the Philadelphia Flyers. Kostitsyn did not make the trip to Philadelphia with the team, as he was held back with a lower-body injury. He's considered day-to-day for now, but that's all the team will likely say for the next few days. I don't think he'll be deary missed.
There was no word of an injury when it comes to the lack of Jordin Tootoo in the Predators' line-up on Thursday night, so I'm going to make the assumption that he was a healthy scratch. Upon further review, however, it looks like Tootoo left Tuesday's game against the Kings early and didn't return, but there is yet to be any word as to why he didn't play on Thursday night. The Predators are in the hunt for the playoffs, so I guess keeping the injury news under wraps will be par for the course in Nashville.
A little bit of catch-up here, as Zbynek Michalek, a Box 13 defenseman, sat out of Wednesday night's game against the Flames, due to an assortment of bumps and bruises. That sounds more like a maintenance day, but coach Dave Tippett was fairly flat out denying that the team is going ahead and resting players down the stretch, since they have already made the playoffs. I suppose that's fair, but I would think that most teams would want to go into the playoffs healthy.
