Already added to my injury prone list this year, Joffrey Lupul is now likely to miss the start of Ducks training camp, with fears that he may miss all of camp and the start of the season, all due to a recurrence of a blood infection.
Lupul's blood infection was first caught after undergoing surgery to fix a herniated disc in his back, which has caused him to miss the bulk of the time over the past couple of years and now the infection has popped up again in around the same area where he had his surgery, causing a lot of irritation and discomfort.
Lupul will have to complete his rounds of antibiotics and cannot do any physical exertion while on medication, which will set his timetable back for jumping into the line-up. Ducks coaching staff and management will likely want Lupul to train for a solid month before getting back into the line-up, but that's definitely negotiable. We'll call it four weeks for the meds right now, causing him to miss the start of training camp, but I would stay with my injury prognosis of just staying away from him at the draft.
