The Buffalo Sabres added another piece to their blueline on Monday, by signing Shaone Morrisonn to a new 2-year deal. The numbers for the 2-year deal were not disclosed through early Tuesday morning, so I can't really figure what the damage against the cap is, but in 2010, Morrisonn made a shade under $2 million, so I would think it would be in that neighbourhood.
Morrisonn is another one of those non-fantasy pool threats with only 12 points in 68 games with the Capitals in 2010, which is probably fine by him, since he plays a very solid defensive game and should be a pretty good fit with some of the other blueliners in Buffalo. It's a pretty solid signing, which should give an added layer of protection to Ryan Miller in some of those tough games.
