The Dallas Stars announced on Thursday afternoon that they have re-signed restricted free agent defenseman Niklas Grossman to a new 2-year deal, said to be worth $3.25 million, a $1.625 million cap hit per season.
The 25-year old Swede played in 71 games for the Stars in 2010, picking up 7 assists in the process and logged quite a few minutes when leaned upon to do so. The 4-year veteran of the club will not likely be a good fantasy option for the draft this year, but he might be figuring onto the Selection Sheet this year, as he might slide into the role of the 4th or 5th defenseman for the Stars this season.
