Bad news from Capitals camp, defenseman Tom Poti has failed his training camp physical and will not be ready to go for training camp and likely won't be able to start the season.
Last season, Poti dealt with a number of injuries, mostly dealing with lower-body and groin injuries (which are likely the same thing). Poti finally left the Capitals line-up near the end of January and was not able to return, missing out on the last 38 games of the regular season and the team's playoff run.
Looking at Poti's career numbers, especially his games played numbers, it would be fair to place him in the injury prone category, a list I haven't done much with this year, but if you look back at some of my previous injury prone posts, you'll know who to avoid.
My projection for Poti going into the season was up around 30 points, which I will now cut in half, assuming he'll end up getting healthy again, but I don't expect much from his production in the coming year. Poti's new projection number will be 15 points, but he will be expected on the injured reserve to start the season, which should encourage you to stay away from him.
