Whatever the lower-body injury is that Winnipeg defenseman Tobias Enstrom has suffered, it was serious enough to warrant surgery on Thursday, as the team has announced that he will be out of action for the next 2-to-3 weeks, but not disclosing what the injury actually is. Enstrom was hurt on Saturday night against the Lightning and has already sat out a couple of games and is now slated to miss a bunch more.
Ryan's blueline was already down Travis Hamonic in Brooklyn, so this loss will mount for sure. His team is another one of those four teams that only has 1 point through three nights of action and now he trails everyone in the pool in projected games to be played. His team is only 3 points out of the money, but for how much longer?
