|Conditional 2017 6th Round Draft Pick|
The Winnipeg Jets were likely going to lose out on Drew Stafford, either through the expansion draft or through free agency in the Summer, so they felt that the needed to get something for him. Unfortunately, the market for him wasn't very popular and he only went for a bottom end draft pick, which could improve if certain conditions were met.
It hasn't been a very healthy or productive year for the winger, as he has only played in 40 games and scored only 4 goals, so the sending him to Boston could give him that kick in the rear end he needs to have a better season and possibly give the Bruins that added depth for a playoff run.
Benson's pool team has fallen down into the bottom half of the standings, down into 14th place this week and Stafford's lack of offense was one of the reasons why his team couldn't hold onto 1st place earlier in the year. The move comes a little too late for Benson's team, as it is already 50 points out of the money with less than six weeks to go.
