It's Thursday and apparently we're still on Swanny Watch: Week Twenty-Three. Okay, to be fair, I haven't been blogging too much this week, so there should be some surprise for it already.
Stacey M. has picked up her win from Pekka Rinne already this week, so she's safe and hoping for the money to fall into her lap.
So, let's see what John S. needs to happen tonight to stay in this race.
Devan Dubnyk (John S.) versus Eddie Lack (N/A)
There is some reports out there that suggest that Dubnyk may not get the start tonight, but the Wild are not on back-to-backs and whatever lack of confidence Dubnyk may have, could very well be cured by the Hurricanes tonight. The Canes haven't been good and they will go with Lack tonight, who has been very up and down, since returning from a concussion.
Steve Mason (Brenda & Seward) versus Keith Kinkaid (N/A)
The New Jersey Devils are going to be in their retro green jerseys for St. Patrick's Day and those good lookin' jerseys will be out to stop the pool's second duo. Brenda & Seward open the night 6 points out of 3rd place and are one of the few teams that now have a shot at the last money spot in the standings.
Pekka Rinne (Stacey M.) versus Braden Holtby (Jeremy)
Talk about snazzy looking jerseys, the Capitals will be donning their retro jerseys tonight, with the Predators in town tonight. Jeremy's team has fallen off the pace for the money, 21 points out of 3rd place, but a big Holtby result could make it a little more interesting.
James Reimer (Eric) versus Sergei Bobrovsky (Mike)
The Columbus Blue Jackets will be in their third jerseys tonight and they will celebrate by trying to play spoiler for Eric's team, which currently has a 4-point cushion for his spot in 3rd place tonight. It's a tough test for the Panthers, with Bobrovsky in at the other end, who ranks number one in pool scoring to start the night.
Corey Crawford (Marcin) versus Mike Condon (Stacey C.)
The Ottawa Senators are among those teams wearing alternates tonight, with the Chicago Blackhawks in town. Unfortunately, neither goalie participating in this one really has a shot at the money, as both Marcin and Stacey C. has seen their teams fall right out. Marcin trails Stacey by 12 points in the standings, but that's about as close as we're going to see as a race in this match-up.
Frederik Andersen (Brian) versus Andrei Vasilevskiy (Ryan)
An alternate jersey game with some money implications to it... I like it! Ryan's proxy team is the one that trails Eric's squad by 4 points at the start of the night and he'll see his goalie go up against Brian's, which leads the pool at the moment. Ryan is only 21 points behind Brian, so a win could take that below 20 points for Ryan's chances at the big money. This one is definitely interesting.
