Ahead of the Boston Bruins/New York Islanders game tonight in Brooklyn, the visitors have recalled Zane McIntyre to back-up tonight's starter, Anton Khudobin, as the team's number one, Tuukka Rask, has been sidelined with a lower-body injury. Rask is currently thought to be day-to-day with the ailment, but with the Bruins in the thick of the playoff races, everything is going to be played close to the chest.
Rask has been the only real chance that Troy has had to stay out of the Basement Dweller spot since the start of the third segment. When play opens up here right away, his team is only 1 point clear of the bottom spot.
The Dallas Sports Writers Guild named Stars forward Patrick Sharp as their Masterton Trophy nominee for the this season, but unfortunately for the Stars, he won't be playing anymore this season, as he will undergo season-ending hip surgery on Tuesday. Sharp will finish the season with 8 goals and 18 points in 48 games played this year, a far cry from where the expectations were at the start of the season.
Jeremy didn't have much luck with Sharp, since acquiring him at the Waiver Draft, only collecting 2 goals and 6 points in 21 games. Besides having some terrible luck in the Waiver Draft, Jeremy could still finish in the top 10, still being 10 points clear of 10th place and 11 points clear of 11th.
