Swanny Watch: Friday, Week Twenty-Two! It continues, as Devan Dubnyk dropped a decision to the Tampa Bay Lightning on Thursday night and this doesn't leave much room for error left in his week.
Darcy Kuemper (N/A) versus James Reimer (Eric)
The Minnesota Wild are working on back-to-back nights, which gives Dubnyk the night off, leaving back-up Kuemper to take on the Panthers in Sunrise tonight. Minnesota will play again on Sunday, which should give John one more shot, at least.
Eric's team is 2 points back of Marcie to start the night and he cashed in on a big shutout last night, so his team is lining up for a money spot with a win.
Marc-Andre Fleury (Cam) versus Cam Talbot (Marcie)
Marcie's team should be able to provide a response to the result of the Wild/Panthers game, as her number one goalie will get the tough task of taking on the Penguins tonight. Sure, the match-up on the television is Sidney Crosby versus Connor McDavid, but we know where the really money is in this game and that comes from the crease.
Cam's team is having another poor week, dropping down another spot, down to 10th and is now 28 points behind Marcie's team and it doesn't look like Fleury is going to get a lot of those minutes down the stretch.
Jonathan Bernier (Eric) versus Jake Allen (Mike)
The Anaheim Ducks are also on back-to-back nights, but they had come out and said that John Gibson is on this trip, but wasn't going to see any action, just get some practice in to rehab his injury. This could mean back-to-back starts for Bernier, who earned the shutout last night and could get a pretty tough task from the Blues on the next night. We shall see! I'm sure Eric's red-hot team won't mind another start.
