Afternoon Player Notes in the Draft (Dec 15)
The Florida Panthers are expecting to be without veteran forward Jaromir Jagr for Tuesday night's game in Brooklyn, as the Cats face the Islanders at the Barclay's Center. Jagr has missed the last couple days of practice and is believed to be suffering from the flu. It doesn't sound like anything major, but he's going to get a rest tonight, while Rocco Grimaldi has been called up to either take his place or at the very least, give the team some depth in Jagr's absence.
Jagr has been an integral piece of John P.'s rise to the top of the standings, having 21 points in 28 games this season, a huge gain for an 8th round pick in the draft this year.
