Morning Player Notes in the Draft (Dec 13)
An upper-body injury forced Islanders forward Ryan Strome out of the game against the Blue Jackets on Saturday night, after only playing over nine minutes in the game. Strome has had a tough season, including a stop in the minors for a few weeks. There was no immediate update at the end of the game and the coaching staff may update his status this afternoon.
Clayton is not getting good value for his pick this year, as he took Strome with his 6th round pick and has hardly seen those kind of numbers this year, despite a nice little run after his return from the AHL.
It's the mystery of the recurring injuries in Tampa Bay, as the Lightning have seen some remarkable turns of fortune, from getting players healthy to seeing them get hurt again. First, it was Tyler Johnson, unable to play again with his upper-body injury, Jonathan Drouin was a scratch against the Capitals, because of a lower-body injury that he has been dealing with and then Ondrej Palat was hurt during the game against Washington, as T.J. Oshie rolled over his previously injured ankle, forcing him from the game.
Drouin's status moving forward is still somewhat cloudy, as we have yet to find out what this injury will cost him, while Palat's status is still up in the air, we're probably a lot less optimistic that we'll see any positive news come out of it. For Allan and Tony, it will be a lot of wait and see.
