Bobrovsky Out 3 Weeks
Is it too early to start thinking about the playoffs for the Blue Jackets? In the East, Columbus 8 points out of a wild card playoff spot, but they would have to climb over everyone to get there, as they're in last place and now they'll be without their number one goalie, Sergei Bobrovsky, for the next three weeks.
Initially, we thought that the injury was of the upper-body variety, but with this placement on the Injured Reserve on Thursday morning, it was revealed that the injury is indeed a groin strain and that is what will cost him the next few weeks.
As of Thursday morning, Bobrovsky was ranked 35th overall in pool scoring, appearing in 21 games for the Jackets, winning 11 games and earning 1 shutout, also adding 2 assists for 26 points in the pool.
This injury could put a serious dent in Troy's hopes in the immediate future, as Bob has been one of his best players, despite where Columbus sits in the standings. Troy will enter Thursday's action in 6th place, now 9 points out of the money, but still 10 points up on 7th place. His team hasn't gotten off to the best of starts in Week Ten, having only 4 points and they're much closer to the Basement Dweller, than they are to Mover & Shaker.
Will anyone on his side step up to make up the difference?
