Jackets' Savard to Miss a Month
Out of that mess of injuries that was reported for the Columbus Blue Jackets earlier this week, one of them has hit the Injured Reserve, as David Savard will be out for the next four weeks with an ankle injury. He was placed on the IR on Saturday and now the Jackets will have to play through yet another injury in their lineup for the next little while.
Savard has been decent for Columbus this year, picking up 13 assists in 33 games this year, so he'll definitely be missed, despite not having any goals on the year, so far. As of Saturday afternoon, he was ranked 233rd in pool scoring.
In the pool this season, Troy took Savard with the 229th overall pick in the 9th round, so he was getting good value for his selection. With Savard now expected to miss a month, there will be some points missed out on, when you look at the number of games he'll miss as well.
Troy sits in 4th place in the standings, 1 point back of 3rd place and having one of the better weeks among the top six teams.
