Goalie Announcements (Mar 12)
12 games on the schedule tonight, which means there's lots of points to be had. I think we'd all benefit just a little bit more, if the goalies were kept from shutouts today and we had a whole load of 6-5 games across the board. That would be nice, right?
We've got two early games here starting right away, hence the early release of this post. The Islanders & Bruins go in Boston and the Hurricanes & Sabres are playing in Buffalo and we're expecting to see Thomas Greiss (Eric) against Tuukka Rask (Dale C.) and then Cam Ward (Neil) against Chad Johnson (John P.).
The second of the two early games a big one for the money chase, as Neil and John P. are both chasing Brian for 3rd place at the start of play today.
In the Noon MT start today, we have both Henrik Lundqvist (Derek & Dan) and Petr Mrazek (Tony) confirmed for the Rangers and Red Wings in Detroit today. These two teams are 17th & 16th, respectively, separated by only 7 points.
We know that Devan Dubnyk (Derek W.) will take on Mike Condon (John R.) in Montreal tonight, Garret Sparks (Ryan) will get Craig Anderson (John P.) in Ottawa as well. Ryan is still trying to track down John and is only 16 points back this morning. It should be Michal Neuvirth (Neil) taking on Roberto Luongo (Kristy & Don) in Florida, as these two teams are both within striking distance of each other, 13 points. Finally, the other full match-up we know about is Jake Allen (Scott) in Dallas to take on Antti Niemi (Stacey M.) in a less-than-important pool match-up this week.
Ondrej Pavelec (Stuart) has been confirmed for the Jets already this morning, while we wait for confirmation of who he'll face with Colorado in town, while we know Keith Kinkaid (non-pool) will get the call again for the Devils, as they visit Los Angeles.
Otherwise, everyone else is still up in the air and it all gets started here shortly.
