It sounds like a simple bout of the flu kept Chicago defenseman Brent Seabrook out of Tuesday night's game against the Wild, a game that they could have used him after Duncan Keith was ejected. Seabrook is listed as day-to-day and should be expected back for the team's next game, Friday night in Winnipeg.
Stacey C.'s team is off to a slow start this week, down at 4 points through two nights, but there isn't much left for Stacey to play for in these last couple weeks. His team is safe from being last, where 25th is about the furthest he could fall in that time. On the flip side, his team could hit the top 20, if they were to turn it all around.
After taking a puck to the head, Nashville defenseman Ryan Ellis was forced from the game against the Stars and his status is still be evaluated by the team. The smaller-stature defender was on the receiving end of a Patrick Eaves slap shot and that just doesn't sound pleasant, at all. We'll wait and see what the diagnosis is.
On the verge of back-to-back first-to-worst weeks, our reigning Mover & Shaker is not off to a good start, as Ryan's team only has 3 points, one of three teams to be down there, and his chase for 3rd place has been put in serious jeopardy, as teams above his are running much hotter. The Ellis injury isn't going to help.
