Race to the Sin Bin (Mar 11)

Derek & Dan did manage to pull a few more minutes into their favour on Thursday night and they will head into the weekend only 24 minutes behind Wes' team, but Friday night won't really be about the top two teams, as they aren't going to be featured nearly as much as other teams.

Dale B.'s team, which sits in 3rd place, 63 minutes behind 1st place, will have one of the more notable players going tonight in Scott Hartnell of the Blue Jackets.  The Jackets will host the Penguins tonight, which will have one of Wes' guys, Evgeni Malkin, but I don't think anyone really expects those two to go toe-to-toe.

The most notable player tonight, tops on the active PIM list for Friday, Wayne Simmonds of the Flyers, who belongs to Dale C., joined by Ryan White, belonging to John R., will be in Tampa Bay to take on the Lightning, who are not very well represented in the PIM pool this year.  Here's hoping that these two can find a dance partner tonight, right?

Dale C. is only 4 minutes out of the top five, while John R. is still 37 minutes back of finishing on the standings page in the mini-pool.

Getting back to the top two teams though, Wes' best representation tonight will be Ryan Kesler of the Ducks, who are in St. Louis tonight, while Derek & Dan's best hope for penalty minutes is Shane Doan of the Coyotes, who are in Calgary.

It's not a very busy Friday night, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed for some fireworks, as always.
