Goalie Announcements (Nov 16)

Another work week in the books and now it's time for some weekend hockey to commence!  Six games, starting a little bit later than usual, a 6pm MT puck drop to start the night, kicking off our weekend in style.

The hockey pool races are heating up, as is the blog, if you have been missing out.  Plenty of goalie news, which has trickled down to some of these match-ups tonight, so make sure you're up-to-date or else some of these goalie match-ups might look a little funny.

Tuukka Rask (Jesse) versus Ben Bishop (Clayton)
Clayton's team enters play tonight as the outright leader for the Mover & Shaker of Week Seven, as his team sits with 20 points through Thursday night and in Dallas tonight, he'll have the home keeper going for his side to keep up the momentum.  Jesse's team isn't having a bad week, 13 points so far, getting the first of two starts tonight from the Boston Bruins.  Should be a pretty good game there in the Big D.

Carter Hutton (Wes) versus Laurent Brossoit (N/A)
The Buffalo Sabres are running pretty hot at the moment and they look to keep their own momentum going in Winnipeg tonight, as they send Carter Hutton back out to the crease to take on the Jets.  Wes' team isn't running quite as hot, but on the plus side, it has already qualified for Week Eight in the survivor game, which doesn't really mean anything, but it's something for these blog posts.

Cal Petersen (N/A) versus Corey Crawford (Benson)
The good ship Benson continues to sink in the standings, but will look to try and start bailing out the water with another start from Corey Crawford and the Chicago Blackhawks tonight.  They welcome the limping Los Angeles Kings to their barn, who are having all kinds of goalie problems of their own, now going to dress their 3rd-string keeper, thanks to injury and illness.

Pheonix Copley (N/A) versus Philipp Grubauer (Jesse)
Jesse's second start of the night comes in Colorado, as Philipp Grubauer will get a start against his former club, the Washington Capitals, who are also without their number one goalie, due to injury as well.  If your pool team is in need of a new goalie, you might want to be watching these teams who are auditioning their 2nd or 3rd-string goalies here for you, there could be a good find out there somewhere, if the injuries are long-term enough.

Jake Allen (Steve) versus Marc-Andre Fleury (Troy)
A full-on hockey pool match-up in Vegas tonight, as Steve and Troy will see their goalies go head-to-head, when the Blues visit the Golden Knights.  Steve's team was floating around the top 10 there for a while, but a tough week this week has seen his team drop to 10th place and has the risk of falling further, if he can't get those key wins.  Troy, on the other hand, is in a firm battle for top spot in the standings and a win would be enough to vault his team back to the pinnacle for another night.  Plenty at stake in the pool from this game.

Garret Sparks (Grant) versus John Gibson (Kristy & Don)
Finally, the Anaheim Ducks continue their anniversary celebrations with the Toronto Maple Leafs in town and they'll don some of their black alternates from a few years back in warm-ups, likely before wearing their alternates for the occasion.  Grant starts the night 8 points behind the duo before this goalie match-up goes, a pretty good battle in the top 10 tonight in Anaheim, which could make things more interesting in a hurry.
