Goalie Announcements (Nov 5)

It's a new week, Week Six, only a few more weeks of play until we can finally ditch some of those crappy players on our team.  I can hear the collective sigh from a few of you out there, just dying to do so.

It looks like there will be a few goalies auditioning for jobs tonight in the NHL, as the teams across the league will be starting their number two or even their number three goalie tonight.

Anton Khudobin (N/A) versus Tuukka Rask (Jesse)
One of those goalies looking for a job in Week Nine, Dallas' Anton Khudobin, who gets another start tonight in Boston for the Stars.  He's free, if you've got a goalie to drop.

Jesse does not have one of the nine teams still in the goalie survivor pool, nor has he had a very active set of goalies this season.  His team ranks 18th in goalie minutes played, to date, and 21st in goalie points.  He gets another start out of Tuukka Rask and the Bruins, taking on his former teammate.

Antti Niemi (N/A) versus Thomas Greiss (Stuart)
The Montreal Canadiens have got some extra miles out of Antti Niemi this season, as the Finn ranks tied for 8th in points among available goalies, he'll get the start in Brooklyn tonight.

Stuart's team is tied for 16th in goalie points, so far this season, collecting only 14 points through five weeks.  He gets another start out of Thomas Greiss and the Islanders, as he'll look to pad his lead atop of the standings tonight.

Keith Kinkaid (Neil) versus Matt Murray (Wilton)
Neil had finished one week up in 1st place in the standings, but his team really fell off the pace and has dropped down to 10th place to start Week Six.  He needs a big start from Keith Kinkaid and the Devils tonight, if he is going to want to get back into the conversation.

Wilton has been dreaming of those lofty heights all season, but his team has been mired in a slump to start the year, falling down to 21st place last week.  Goaltending hasn't been a big concern for his team, currently tied for 9th with 18 points this season, but it's certainly not helping the overall scheme of his team.  Matt Murray tries to keep his hopes alive tonight for the Penguins.

Cam Talbot (Mike) versus Pheonix Copley (N/A)
The Washington Capitals haven't really given Pheonix Copley much of a run just yet this season, but it could be coming before too long.  He'll make his fourth appearance tonight, looking for 2 more points.

Mike's team is not short on goalie minutes this season, as his team leads the pool from the crease, by a whole game over Wes' team this year.  He'll get another start from Cam Talbot, to no one's surprise, as the Edmonton Oilers will give their number one another run out there tonight.

Calvin Pickard (N/A) versus Darcy Kuemper (Stuart)
One more goalie doing his best audition tonight, as Calvin Pickard will go for the Flyers, more so because of injuries to the other goalies on the team.  The Flyers have had no luck with goalies and their injuries, so if you're considering Pickard for your team, he has 4 points in four games this year, but he plays for Philly.  Just saying.

And as if we needed Stuart to get more help up on top of the standings, he does get another start tonight, the only pool team to get two, as Darcy Kuemper has been tapped to go for the Coyotes tonight.  Stuart's team didn't make it out of Week Two in the survival pool, so at least he won't be winning that as well.
