Trocheck Out Indefinitely

An ugly incident, leading to an even uglier injury has sidelined Florida Panthers forward on the shelf for an indefinite period of time.  On Wednesday, the 25-year old underwent surgery to repair a fractured ankle and there is no immediate timetable for his return, but the team does expect to see him back on the ice before the end of the 2019 season.

Trocheck has appeared in 18 games so far this season, scoring 3 goals and 14 points and as of Thursday morning, he was ranked 145th overall in hockey pool scoring, a very productive member of this Panthers side and will be a big hole to fill for this team moving forward.

Stacey C. will have to have a quick ponder about the state of his forwards, when the Waiver Draft rolls around next week.  An injury like this, with an indefinite timetable before a return, would suggest that he would have to go and be replaced by a healthy body.  An ankle fracture that requires surgery has to be a minimum of eight weeks, one would have to believe and for how ugly that injury looked on screen, it could be much longer.

After Wednesday night's pre-Thanksgiving schedule, Stacey's team sits in 16th place, 41 points back of 1st place and will need to throw a Hail Mary pass in the Waiver Draft to make up some of those points.  Of course, there are mini-games too... he has 2 points in the rookie pool, 28 points behind the leader, 1 shootout goal, 4 back of the leader and then he has 7 game-winners, 5 back of the leader.  This would require some solid studying, but there's still a chance to get some money back this year.
