Morning Player Notes (Nov 8)

The transition to the NHL hasn't exactly been as smooth as one may have hoped for Pittsburgh Penguins forward Daniel Sprong, who found himself in the press box again on Wednesday night, when his team took on the Washington Capitals. In 12 games played this season, the Pens rookie only has 4 assists and he is thought to be a goal scorer, so those numbers aren't quite good enough.  The Penguins don't play again until Saturday night, so it will be interesting to see how their lineup shapes up after last night's loss.

Jesse's team currently holds the equator spot in the standings at 13th spot, having a good week through three nights with 10 points.  His team is only a couple of points out of the Mover & Shaker spot, despite the scratch.

Sounds like Brady Tkachuk is ready to return to the Ottawa Senators lineup tonight, when they host the Vegas Golden Knights.  The Sens rookie has been on the ice for the last few days, finishing up his recovery from a torn ligament in his leg and it looks like he is about a week early from the worst case scenario of his timetable.  The Sens will be happy to get him back, as he has been a productive player in his rookie season, 3 goals and 6 points in his first four games played.

The reigning champ, Stuart, sees his team finish up last night's action in 3rd place, losing out a few points on the lead in the first three nights of the week, but if Tkachuk can keep up his scoring pace, he could be back atop the standings in no time.
