Goalie Announcements (Nov 26)

After a horrible week for goalies in the hockey pool in Week Eight, Monday night of Week Nine makes up for it with five games and 10 hockey pool starting goalies.

A whole lot of starting goalies, we've made a bunch of picks in the Waiver Draft already... this has already been a good start to the week.

Jaroslav Halak (Stacey M.) versus Frederik Andersen (Derek B.)
Bruins and the Leafs... another great NHL rivalry goes tonight in Toronto and I would say that this is the two really hot keepers going head-to-head as well.  Jaroslav Halak has been a huge add for the Bruins and has given the team a 1A/1B tandem, which has been hard to beat and a huge reason why Stacey's team has been up in the money for the last few weeks.

Andersen gets the net for Toronto, to no one's surprise, but Derek had the 3rd pick in the Waiver Draft, so that's not usually a good sign for where your team is at.  He'll need Andersen to continue to be the best goalie in the pool, because the picks that Derek makes won't be active until next week.

Keith Kinkaid (Neil) versus James Reimer (Dale C.)
The Devils are in Florida to take on the Panthers on Monday night and it's an okay goalie match-up, maybe not what you would have expected a year ago, but today, Keith Kinkaid is the number one in Jersey and James Reimer is the defacto number one for the Panthers and off they go.

Neil has tumbled a little ways down the standings in recent weeks, starts play in 13th, while Dale has been moving up of late, now at 17th, but there is a significant gap between them still, currently sitting at 14 points.

Braden Holtby (Stacey C.) versus Thomas Greiss (Stuart)
Thomas Greiss is another one of those big time surprises in the hockey pool this season and Stuart's defense of his hockey pool win last year has benefited from this big surprise, certainly on the right side of lady luck these days.  Greiss gets the Capitals tonight, which should be a really good match-up.

Braden Holtby could really help Stacey C., if he can get hot about now.  Stacey's team can move up a couple spots with a win tonight, in theory and this is definitely a good week to start turning it all around and start climbing up from 19th in the standings.

Craig Anderson (Mike) versus Henrik Lundqvist (Scott)
Mike's team is still in the goalie survivor hunt this week and will look to continue that streak with a win from Craig Anderson and the Senators tonight.  They are in New York to take on the Rangers, where Henrik Lundqvist continues to rule the roost and has been one of Scott's best players this season.  Scott's team is coming off a hot week, can it continue in time to maybe make some noise in the standings this season?

Sergei Bobrovsky (Kristy & Don) versus Jimmy Howard (Tony)
In the late game, a 5:30pm MT start (not very late at all), the Blue Jackets and Red Wings are playing tonight and they're giving us the number ones tonight, as Sergei Bobrovsky goes for the visitors and Jimmy Howard goes for the home side.  The duo are 5th at the start of play today, while Tony is in 18th spot, 31 points back, so it isn't a big battle in the standings, but at the start of Week Nine, Tony has to hope his team starts to turn it around.
