Avalanche Place Jost on IR

On Thursday, the Colorado Avalanche placed forward Tyson Jost on the Injured Reserve after suffering a head injury last week against the Senators. Jost was hurt in last Friday night's game and was made unavailable through the weekend and throughout this past week. It sounds like the team isn't prepared to subject him to contact until next week, so placement on the Injured Reserve is a no-brainer, as he is already eligible to come off at any time, when ready to go.

The 20-year old is off to a slow start this year, only registering a goal and an assist in his first 11 games this season, so it isn't a big hole being left in the Avalanche lineup, although there was a post earlier in the week, where it was suggested that they could really use more of their secondary scoring and he's the kind of guy we're talking about here.

Despite only having 2 points, I'm sure Steve would very much prefer to have Jost healthy and playing, especially in that potent Avalanche offense.  This week, his team only has 11 points and sits in 3rd place, only 2 points out of 1st place.  It's not to say that Jost could have had those 2 points this week, but there certainly is a chance he could have.
