Elliott Out Two Weeks

The Philadelphia Flyers announced that they recalled goaltender Alex Lyon from the AHL again on Friday, as the announcement of Brian Elliott and another lower-body injury will keep him out of the lineup for about two weeks.

The curse of the Philadelphia goal crease appears to be a real thing now.

Elliott has already missed a game this season to a lower-body injury and now will be on the shelf for at least another couple of weeks, which should cost him about five or six more games, which are spread out to the point that they all could have been starts.

In 14 appearances already this season, the veteran keeper has 6 wins and 15 points, which is good enough for 96th overall in hockey pool scoring, 12th among all goalies.  It's a pretty good start to the season, considering where he is compared to the rest of the goalies, but injuries are wreaking havoc for the Flyers, who will now lean on Calvin Pickard for a while now.

This is a tough break for Jeremy's team, which sits 13th in the pool standings at the start of play on Friday, 21 points back of 3rd place.  Elliott was his 3rd round pick, which meant some big expectations, not all of which were being realized as of yet.
