Morning Player Notes (Nov 4)

Saturday night in Vegas, the Hurricanes' three goalie system caught up to Petr Mrazek for the first time this year, as he was the odd-man out of their game against the Golden Knights. Scott Darling got the start and Curtis McElhinney was his backup on the night, not that it made too much of a difference without any offense to speak of, but it looks like there could be a rotation happening in Carolina and maybe even a win-and-you-play mentality too.  It was going to be interesting when the three goalies were poised to be healthy and all could play and it has turned out that way indeed.

Mrazek belongs to Stacey C. this season and his team finished Saturday's action in 8th place, only 8 points out of 1st place.  The race has been crazy tight this season and when we're losing starts or player games, those sort of losses really do tend to add up.

Buffalo Sabres rookie defenseman Rasmus Dahlin made an early exit out of Saturday afternoon's contest against the Senators, suffering a lower-body injury while blocking a shot. The team didn't believe that the injury was serious, they decided to keep him out for precautionary reasons, ahead of traveling to New York to take on the Rangers on Sunday night.  If Dahlin can't go on Sunday, he will be listed as day-to-day, unless otherwise noted.

Derek B.'s team has seen some good improvements this week, picking up 24 points and catching up to the group ahead of him in Week Five.  His team still sits in 23rd spot, but is only 17 points out of the top 10 after Saturday's action.  It's going to be a slow grind, but it's manageable.
