Oilers' Bouchard Sent Back
The 10th overall selection in the 2018 entry draft, Edmonton Oilers defenseman Evan Bouchard will finish his regular season down in the junior ranks after being sent back on Friday afternoon.
After just seven games in the Oilers lineup, registering his first NHL goal in the process, he'll head back to the London Knights of the OHL, where he'll continue to progress towards being a regular NHL player.
Heading back to the junior ranks means that Bouchard is not eligible to return to the NHL until his junior team has completed their season, including the playoffs, unless there is an emergency situation, where he could be recalled for a short period of time, if a minor-league player is unavailable at the time.
Another tough break for Brenda & Seward at the start of this season and they have had plenty of stumbling blocks at the start. The demotion of Bouchard is certainly one that will hurt their roster, both overall and in the rookie mini-game, where this was their only entry in the first segment of the season. Overall, they rank 24th, 33 points behind 1st place after play had already started on Friday.
