One of the early goals for the Hurricanes in the off-season was going to be re-signing Patrick Eaves and they did just that on Wednesday. Eaves signed a 3-year deal worth $4.2 million, which is a cap hit of $1.4 million despite his salary structure.Eaves battled through an injury-plagued season, playing only 37 games and registering only 5 goals and 10 assists in the year. Eaves still has plenty of potential to be a good scoring winger and could be a late addition to your pool team through the year, next season.

The Hurricanes now have 14 regular players signed on for next season at an approximate salary cap hit of $38.5 million, which gives them plenty of room to make a move or two this summer. Other key restricted free agents to sign include, Tuomo Ruutu, Dennis Seidenberg and Tim Gleason.
