In Toronto, the winds of change have been blowing through at a gale force pace. Andrew Raycroft and Kyle Wellwood were waived on Tuesday, while on Wednesday, it was understood that Darcy Tucker was going to be notified officially that he'll join the waiver wire in order to be bought out.
Raycroft's immediate future with the Leafs is still unknown, but he could very well be sent to the minors in order to cancel out his cap hit of $2 million for the time being.
Wellwood's fate was going to be that the team would not offer him a qualifying offer, thus making him an unrestricted free agent, but he was placed on the waiver wire in case a team would like an early crack at him.
Tucker's 3-year extension, at $3 million per season, will be bought out and count against the cap for the next six years. Tucker signed his extension during the past season, but the new direction didn't have Tucker in it, which will cost Toronto dearly down the road.
Once Raycroft's future is a little clearer, a team update will be posted with the new look of the roster and the updated cap hit information.
