The Philadelphia Flyers needed to do some housecleaning for their accounting department and to do so, R.J. Umberger was a likely target as a restricted free agent. Saying that, the Flyers sent Umberger to the Columbus Blue Jackets with a pick for a first round pick, where they took Luca Sbisa and then another pick for Saturday.

Umberger was set to have a big pay day after his good playoff performance and will likely get compensated well for it in Columbus. His 50 points in 74 games in the season is nothing to sneeze at as well, which is something the Blue Jackets could use to their advantage, finally. A big winger like Umberger will fit nicely on a second line, while Rick Nash takes the role of the first line. If the Jackets can find Umberger a good centre to play with, he'll be a big force to fend off all year in Columbus.
