Well, you can now remove Sami Kapanen from your list of players to choose from for your next hockey pool draft. Granted, he probably wasn't on there anymore after the dismal season he had in the scoring department. Kapanen officially retired on Tuesday from the NHL and he will resume his hockey playing career in Finland, with a team he had purchased some time ago.The move away from the NHL should open up $1.25 million under the cap for the Flyers, which doesn't give them much more breathing room to move. They now only have 14 regular players signed and ready to go for an approximate cap hit of $45.6 million and they still have to re-sign Jeff Carter, R.J. Umberger and Randy Jones.
