Late on Tuesday, the Boston Bruins acquired defenseman Johnny Boychuk from the Colorado Avalanche for forward Matt Hendricks, a pair of minor league players being swapped.
Boychuk finally managed to play 4 games for the Avalanche last season, his first NHL action of his career, but he could earn himself a solid job in Denver. This move to Boston may not be an immediate promotion, but there may be an opportunity for him in the future.
In Hendricks, the Avalanche get another depth player, which they may need if the salaries for their unrestricted free agents get on the escalator to the extreme.
To Boston | Age | Games | Points | Contract on July 1st |
Johnny Boychuk, D | 24 | 4 | 0 | RFA |
