The Canadiens rewarded young winger,
Maxim Lapierre, with a new two-year deal on Monday. Lapierre, 23, played in 53 games for Montreal last season and registered 7 goals and 11 assists. He brought a certain edge to the Canadiens with size and physical play. He wasn't a big pool contributor last season, but after a good 53 games, his confidence could very well be up enough to increase his scoring production. He'll likely figure into being a waiver draft pick-up.
