It shouldn't have come as a big surprise to see Brett Clark become a healthy scratch last night, as the Avalanche took on the Predators, because the Box 13 defender's point totals this season have been far from impressive. Clark has only managed 15 points in 49 games this season, including only one goal in his last five games. In those same five games, his ice-time has dwindled quite quickly, going down from 23 minutes to 14 minutes.
A knee injury has sidelined Box 4 forward, Mike Modano, for the time being. He missed Thursday's game against the Blue Jackets, thanks to an injury that he suffered on Tuesday against the Wild. This injury isn't considered to be a major one and he should be back in the line-up sooner rather than later. Of course, there are no exact timelines to speak of at the moment.
Already dealing with the sore back of Box 15 goalie, Niklas Backstrom, the Minnesota Wild will now be without Box 16 goalie, Josh Harding, for a while. Harding re-aggravated a previous hip injury while he was making one of the best saves of the season against the Oilers last night. Anton Khudobin came in for the last 10 minutes of the game and earned the win for the Wild. Wade Dubielewicz was already up with the team before the injury and he will now likely take over the starting duties for the Wild until the other two goalies are healthy.
Box 22 forward, Josh Bailey, has been put on the Injured Reserve for the next couple weeks, as he's dealing with an upper-body injury, which he suffered earlier this week. Bailey is a part of the young contingency on Long Island and has been scoring at a reasonable click, almost half a point-per-game this season. I don't think he'll be terribly missed in the pool though.
