The Canadiens shored up the middle of the ice with a deal that has brought centre Dominic Moore to town from the Florida Panthers. Moore will strengthen the Habs' penalty kill and give the team a little bit more defensive responsilbility.
Scoring-wise, Moore has been a little cold, compared to his 2009 pace, but the Habs will not be looking for Moore to put a lot of pucks in the net, although a few here or there wouldn't be frowned upon.
Well, the acquisition of Moore and the recall of P.K. Subban really has the rumour mill buzzing a little bit more, as the salary cap hit that these two bring to the table lifts the Habs closer to their annual ceiling limit, before discounts. There is a buzz suggesting that the Canadiens are not done dealing tonight, before they take on the Philadelphia Flyers on Friday night. The math is getting to be a bit much, but I suspect that the cap hits are well within their capabilities.
The Canadiens do make themselves a little more formidable to play against, which has to please the goaltending tandem. I'm curious to see if the Habs anything more in the tank for the evening... it might not be fair to comment too much now, if something is going to happen later.
