The trade whispers are quietly making their rounds in Denver, as defenseman
John-Michael Liles went back up to the press box for another game on Saturday night. Liles was not in the Avalanche line-up for their 3-0 win over the Oilers and it doesn't seem to be a big secret that Liles isn't going to fit into the line-up many more times this season, which makes him trade bait for the deadline.
Of course, Benson is hoping for a deal to happen sooner rather than later, because that's one of his defensemen sitting in the press box, not getting ice-time and therefore not getting points for his hockey pool team. Benson took Liles in the Draft and needs to keep up the pace, if he's going to be in the conversation for the money this year.
